6 Important Steps To Remember When Holding Golf Club For Golf Beginners

For those who are just beginning to play golf, holding the golf club correctly is quite simple but sometimes you wonder whether you will do it as directed or not. To overcome this problem, Cindy Miller - one of the top 25 golf coaches in the U.S, voted by Golf Tips magazine, shared the crucial steps in order for players to stop worrying when holding golf clubs.

Step 1: Stand about 3 feet away from the ball. Let your left arm and hand relax as much as possible.

Step 2: Use the left - hand to raise the club slightly forward. You also need to hold the stick naturally, avoiding the excessive rotation of your hands or arms.

Step 3: Start with the position of holding the club with your left - hand. Follow what you have been instructed by your trainer. However, notice that after finishing, the thumb of the left hand must be in the direction of 1:00 (if right-handed) and 11:00 (if left-handed).

Step 4: Put the other hand on the golf club (Picture 3). In this position, you will see the other finger lying on the other side of the grip.

Step 5: After holding the golf club, you will see that two of your thumbs lie on opposite sides of the grip in which one finger is in the direction of 1:00 and another is in the direction of 11:00, depending on how left or right handed you are. It is important to make sure that you hold the club properly.

Step 6: Miller always reminds his trainees that when holding golf club, you should not let the thumbs control the clubface, instead use more power on the other fingers. Therefore, the player's hand will hold the club more firmly and help the wrist move more smoothly when performing your swing.
