Most of visitors need a visa to enter Vietnam. Tourist visa can be obtained:
- In Vietnamese embassies
- In Vietnamese consulates
- On arrival at the border gates/ international airport if tourists are invitees of a Vietnamese competent organ or travel on a package tour of a travel company in Vietnam
- Online (e-visa)
Vietnam e-visa is applied for citizens of all countries and territories who wish to stay in Vietnam no more than 90 days (single entry or multi entry). E-visa holders may enter and exit 42 designated border gates including all international airports.
Upon application for a visa, you have to pay for the visa fees. The fees are different based on the visa type that you require.
Visa exemption to Phu Quoc island
Foreign passport holders are exempt from visa requirements to Phu Quoc island with a stay of no more than 30 days. The visa exemption is also applied for those who enter Vietnam through an international border gate (including airports and seaports), stay in the transit area of that border gate and then transfer to Phu Quoc island.
Citizens of 25 countries + Kazakhstan that are exempted from visa requirement:
Brunei, Myanmar, Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, The UK, The Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Chile, Panama.
