Introduction

Cua Lo Beach is distinguished by its broad sandy shoreline, blue seawater and gently sloping seabed. Casuarina trees line parts of the coast, adding greenery to the seaside landscape. Situated approximately 15–18 km from central Vinh, the beach is an established coastal getaway for visitors exploring Nghe An and the wider Central region.

The surrounding seascape includes Lan Chau Island, which extends into the water near the beach, and Song Ngu Island farther offshore. These natural landmarks add variety to the coastline and contribute to Cua Lo’s distinctive scenery. The area also retains a strong connection to local fishing communities, with fishing boats and traditional maritime activities forming part of its coastal character.

Seafood is central to the Cua Lo experience. The area is known for fresh squid, crab, shrimp, fish and shellfish, with muc nhay—fresh, lively squid caught locally—among its best-known specialties. Seaside restaurants and local seafood markets reflect the region’s fishing traditions and make Cua Lo a destination where coastal scenery and Nghe An’s culinary culture come together.
