Introduction

Rising 461.2 metres above the city, Landmark 81 is one of Vietnam’s most recognisable architectural landmarks. Completed in 2018, the tower forms the centrepiece of the Vinhomes Central Park development along the Saigon River. Its modern design, inspired in part by the image of a rising bamboo bundle, reflects the country’s ambition and rapid urban development.

Landmark 81 SkyView occupies the tower’s upper floors, offering visitors an elevated vantage point over Ho Chi Minh City. From the observation areas, the panorama encompasses the winding Saigon River, densely developed neighbourhoods, green spaces and the city’s expanding skyline. On clear days, the distant landscape can extend well beyond the central districts, creating an impressive sense of the city’s scale.

The observation experience is about more than the view. Visitors can explore different viewing areas, take photographs against the expansive city backdrop and enjoy the sensation of being high above the streets. Selected ticket packages may include virtual-reality activities, drinks or souvenir photographs, depending on the current offer. The SkyTouch glass-platform experience is another attraction associated with SkyView; availability and safety requirements should be confirmed before visiting.

The experience changes throughout the day. In daylight, the river, parks and urban layout are easier to distinguish. Near sunset, changing colours spread across the skyline, while after dark the city transforms into a sea of lights. Sunset and early evening are particularly popular, so visitors seeking a quieter experience may prefer an earlier visit, subject to the weather and visibility.

The tower also offers opportunities to extend the visit beyond the observation deck. Vincom Center Landmark 81 houses shops, restaurants, cafés, a cinema and an indoor ice rink, while the surrounding Vinhomes Central Park provides landscaped paths and riverside spaces for a relaxed walk. These facilities make the complex suitable for visitors who want to combine sightseeing with dining, shopping or leisure activities.

For the best experience, check the weather forecast and visibility before booking, as haze or rain can limit the views. Allow around one to two hours for the observation deck, with additional time if you plan to explore the shopping centre or park. Landmark 81 SkyView is an excellent addition to a Ho Chi Minh City itinerary, particularly for travellers interested in modern architecture, panoramic photography and seeing the city from a different perspective.
