Introduction

Located on Sim Mountain, approximately 1 km south of Nghia Linh Mountain, Lac Long Quan Temple forms part of the Hung Kings Historical Relic Complex. The temple honors Lac Long Quan, a legendary figure in Vietnamese mythology who, together with Au Co, is regarded as the ancestral origin of the Vietnamese people. According to the well-known legend, their descendants began with a hundred eggs, giving rise to the traditional expression “children of the Dragon and Fairy.”

The temple features traditional Vietnamese architecture, with a tiled roof, wooden structures and a solemn main sanctuary. Inside stands a bronze statue of Lac Long Quan seated on a throne, accompanied by statues of his attendants. Its setting on Sim Mountain, with surrounding hills and water, creates a tranquil atmosphere for worship and reflection. Visitors often combine a visit to the temple with Hung Kings Temple to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s ancestral legends and longstanding traditions of reverence.
