Muong Thanh Golf Club Dien Lam, located in Nghe An Province, is designed by IMG, one of the world’s leading golf course design firms. The natural beauty of Nghe An has been thoughtfully integrated into the course design, making it both aesthetic and challenging for golfers of all levels.Construction of the course began in late 2017 at the Muong Thanh Ecological Park resort, which also includes a hotel, villas, water park, and safari park. The project was managed by Don Bingham, an experienced shaper who has worked on several IMG projects, including Le Touessrok in Mauritius and the Laguna National Classic course in Singapore.
The course features rolling hills, wooded areas, and a large lake that comes into play on several holes. The design aims to preserve the site's natural landscape while providing a fair and enjoyable test for players of all abilities. According to Paul Burley, Senior Vice President of IMG Golf Course Services, the goal was to create a resort course that is enjoyable, fair, and challenging.
Construction was managed by Muong Thanh Group, the owners of the resort. Despite delays due to heavy rainfall, nine holes have been grassed with Platinum TE paspalum by Atlas Turf International, ensuring high-quality playing conditions.
