Stretching along the coast about 5 km east of Hoi An Ancient Town, An Bang Beach is known for its long sandy shoreline, blue waters and relatively relaxed atmosphere. Compared with more developed urban beaches, its surroundings retain a lower-rise, village-like character, with small accommodation establishments, cafés and restaurants lining the coastal area.
The beach also reflects the area’s traditional fishing heritage. Local fishing boats and round basket boats are part of the coastal scenery, connecting the beach’s contemporary tourism scene with the livelihoods of nearby communities. Its open shoreline and views towards the sea make it a distinctive natural complement to Hoi An’s historic streets and architecture.
An Bang has developed into a well-known destination for seaside relaxation and coastal dining. Beachfront establishments serve fresh seafood and local dishes, while the surrounding area offers a mix of casual cafés, restaurants and small resorts. Its combination of natural scenery, local character and easy access to Hoi An has helped establish An Bang as one of Central Vietnam’s best-known beach destinations.
