Located around 25 km west of central Da Nang, Ba Na Hills sits on the slopes of the Truong Son Mountains at an elevation of approximately 1,487 metres. Originally developed as a hill station during the French colonial period, the area has evolved into a major resort and entertainment destination. Its cooler mountain climate, mist-covered peaks and lush forests create a striking contrast with the warm coastal lowlands, sometimes offering the feeling of experiencing several seasons in a single day.
The most iconic attraction is the Golden Bridge, an elegant pedestrian walkway seemingly supported by two enormous stone hands, suspended above the mountains with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors can also wander through the French Village, with its European-style squares, churches and cobbled streets, or explore the flower gardens of Le Jardin d’Amour. The cable car journey is an experience in itself, gliding above forested slopes and waterfalls, while Fantasy Park, Moon Castle and seasonal festivals add entertainment for visitors of all ages.
The best time to visit is generally from March to August, when conditions are often favourable for sightseeing and outdoor photography, although mountain weather can change quickly throughout the year. Visitors should bring a light jacket, as temperatures at higher elevations are usually cooler than in central Da Nang. Ba Na Hills is an excellent choice for couples, families and travellers seeking a memorable combination of mountain scenery, architectural spectacle and leisure activities.
