Introduction

Located approximately 45 km southwest of Thanh Hoa city, Ben En National Park covers around 15,000 hectares of forests, mountains and waterways. At its heart lies Song Muc Lake, a vast body of water covering approximately 4,000 hectares and dotted with 21 islands of different sizes. The combination of emerald waters, wooded hills and quiet inlets creates a landscape often described as a miniature Ha Long Bay.

One of the best ways to experience the park is by boat on Song Muc Lake, where visitors can admire the islands and surrounding forest from the water. Nature enthusiasts can also explore Ngoc Cave and discover the area’s rich biodiversity, including valuable native plant species and wildlife that contribute to its conservation importance.

Beyond its natural scenery, Ben En offers opportunities for camping and learning about local culture. Visitors may encounter traditional food and community activities, depending on availability. With its peaceful atmosphere and varied landscapes, the park is an appealing destination for travelers seeking an outdoor escape away from Vietnam’s busier tourist centers.
