Located approximately 6 km from central Bien Hoa, Buu Long Tourist Area covers around 84 hectares of lakes, low mountains, gardens and cultural landmarks. Its most distinctive feature is Long An Lake, where clear water reflects rocky outcrops and green hills, creating a landscape often compared to Ha Long Bay in northern Vietnam. Together with nearby Long Van Lake, the scenery offers a refreshing contrast to the surrounding urban environment and makes Buu Long a favourite spot for photography and outdoor relaxation.
Beyond its natural beauty, the area holds considerable spiritual and cultural appeal. Buu Phong Pagoda, dating back to the late 17th century, sits on a nearby hill and features traditional Buddhist architecture and historic artefacts. Visitors can also explore Long Son Thach Dong Pagoda, set among distinctive rock formations, or enjoy boat rides on the lake, stroll through landscaped gardens and discover family-friendly recreational areas.
With its blend of nature, heritage and leisure activities, Buu Long is ideal for a half-day or full-day excursion from Ho Chi Minh City or Bien Hoa. The dry season, generally from December to April, is often more comfortable for outdoor sightseeing. Visitors can combine the trip with Tran Bien Temple of Literature or the nearby Tan Trieu grapefruit-growing area for a broader introduction to Dong Nai’s cultural and agricultural heritage.
