Located behind Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Ho Chi Minh Museum forms part of the historic Ba Dinh complex, together with the Mausoleum and the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace. The museum was inaugurated on 19 May 1990, marking the 100th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh’s birth.
The museum’s distinctive architecture is inspired by the image of a white lotus, symbolising Ho Chi Minh’s simple yet refined character. Its exhibitions bring together a large collection of original documents, photographs and artefacts, presenting his life, revolutionary activities, thoughts, values and legacy within the broader context of Vietnam’s modern history.
A visit to the museum provides a deeper historical perspective than the nearby memorial sites. It is particularly suitable for travellers interested in Vietnamese history, politics, culture and the life of Ho Chi Minh, and can conveniently be combined with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Stilt House and One Pillar Pagoda in a Ba Dinh sightseeing program.
