Introduction

Located within the limestone mountains of Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park, Paradise Cave is part of an extensive karst system shaped by water erosion over millions of years. Although its entrance is relatively modest, the cave opens into enormous underground chambers, with ceilings reaching approximately 60–80 metres high in some sections. Its vast scale and remarkable geological features have earned it a reputation as one of Vietnam’s most impressive dry caves.

Inside, an extraordinary variety of stalactites and stalagmites forms intricate natural sculptures across the cavern floor and ceiling. Some resemble cascading curtains, towering pillars and elaborate architectural structures, while others create unusual shapes that capture the imagination. The main visitor route features wooden walkways through the first kilometre of the cave, allowing close views of its limestone formations while preserving the surrounding environment.

Paradise Cave offers a different experience from Phong Nha Cave, where visitors travel by boat along an underground river. Its dry chambers emphasise the scale, texture and sculptural beauty of the limestone landscape. Beyond the standard route, a longer guided exploration extends deeper into the cave system, revealing more remote passages and geological features. Together with the surrounding forests and mountains of Phong Nha–Ke Bang, Paradise Cave showcases the extraordinary natural heritage of Central Vietnam.
